Three times among the top ten
After the CSIO tournament, which we reported about, Victor Bettendorf continued to compete in Saint Tropez-Gassin last weekend. The Luxembourgish show jumper achieved three top-ten finishes at CSI 3* and CSI 2* levels, including one podium finish. For example, he finished fifth in a two-star 1.40-meter jumping competition with Tajmahal du Houlbec. His best result was a second-place finish in the small CSI 3* tour, also over 1.40 meters.
On Champion de la Roque, Bettendorf had to concede victory in this two-phase jumping competition to Frenchman Tom Leyval, who won with Eurasie du Fief in 33.93 seconds. Bettendorf and “Champion” secured a time of 35.09 seconds. Third place went to another Frenchman, Max Thirouin, who finished with Chavez in 36.40 seconds. On the same day, the 36-year-old Bettendorf achieved another fifth-place finish: riding Jasinho do Casal, he also secured this result in a 1.40m CSI 2* competition.
