In Wittlich: FLSE victories galore

Jumping

Show jumping tournament in the Greater Region

A considerable number of FLSE riders competed at the show jumping tournament in Wittlich last weekend and brought home several placings. For example, Maxine Soudane finished fourth in a 60cm show jumping competition with Dunamoney Star on May 1st. On the same day, Lorie Theis and Mellimara Jife finished second in an 80cm style jumping competition. Giulia Soanni and Mickey placed eighth in the same class. Soanni and Mickey, along with Mara Bisenius and Maverick, also placed tenth in a 90cm A* style jumping competition.

May 2nd kicked off with a Luxembourgish victory: Noemie Goergen won a 90cm jumping class for young jumping horses with Butterfly de Luxe, ahead of Alan Kelly with Charlie Harper, while Franco Martinez and Félicie finished fourth. Kim Gragenette then secured two placings in a 1.10m show jumping class for young horses, finishing third on Clemency and seventh on Peppe van Overis. Two French riders registered in Luxembourg also placed: Léonard Aldilli (4th, Calimero du Gibet) and Maéva Barruel (7th, Lambrusco). Five of the eleven placings in the first section of an L-level jumping competition over 1.15 meters went to Luxembourg. Anne Karen Skippon (6th, Manolo), Lisa Lüthje (7th, Hitchkock), Annemarie Hartert (8th, Esperanza vh Scheefkasteel), Linda Rock (9th, Casey) and again Annemarie Hartert (10th, C-Star) lined up their places like a chain.

Conny Fraiture secured another victory for an FLSE rider, winning the second section of the aforementioned points jumping competition on Live. Luce Kieffer finished third in this class on Alice Pleasance and fourth with Coconut. Noemie Goergen also placed, finishing sixth with Laravola. Saturday continued the success for the Luxembourg riders in Wittlich. Elli Van der Weken, riding Dahina de Florianne, took third place in the first section of an M* jumping competition over 1.20 meters. Claire Schuler (5th, Barolo di Cava), Viktoria Häusler (6th, Concia Blue), and Charline Rollinger (8th, Casalito) also placed.

The second section of this test was firmly in Luxembourgish hands, with the top three finishers all coming from the Grand Duchy: Lucie Kieffer won on Frankie’s Boy, ahead of Diane Kettman, who came second on First Vleut, and Armiteus, who finished third. Julie Thull and Kansai du Gibet also placed, finishing eighth, just ahead of them was Björn Rohrbach, a German rider based in Beaufort, riding San Quintin. Sunday was similarly interesting from a Luxembourgish perspective. In an A**-level show jumping competition over one meter, Ronja Bolmer and Figaro du Cernaut finished fourth, Mayrlène Hartert and Athilas came sixth, and Tania Sutor-Welfring finished eighth on Tutti Frutti.

This was followed by another victory for a Luxembourg-licensed show jumper: Anna Karen Skippon took the top spot in an L-level show jumping competition over 1.15 meters on Manolo. Marylène Hartert finished third with Athilas. Charlie Rollinger secured another victory in the second section of this competition, this time with Casalito. Paul Hendel, a Luxembourger licensed in Germany, finished third on Quiana, Belgian Elise Verstraeten of CRL came in fifth with Maestri Grandia, and Kim Grangenette and Clemency finished seventh. In the first section of the penultimate competition, a points jumping event over 1.25 meters, Conny Fraiture, riding Confetti, won ahead of her clubmate Claire Schuler with Barolo di Cava. Grace Suah Park, a South Korean rider registered in Luxembourg, placed fifth with Geisha de Lacke and sixth with Iglou Germiney.

The victory in the second section also went to Luxembourg: Diane Kettmann won it with Armiteus. In the most difficult competition of the tournament, the S* show jumping with a jump-off over 1.40 meters, Lucie Kieffer riding Frankie’s Boy was the only Luxembourger who finished among the eight placed riders, but another five of them are registered with the FLSE: Mete Genceren (USA) won on Marice DC Stables ahead of Franco Martinez (ARG, Krick Krack du Gibet) and Björn Rohrbach (GER, San Quitin). Alan Kelly (IRL), also based in Luxembourg, finished fourth on Uzi, and Genceren placed eighth with his other horse, Help Me de Kreisker, too.
