Driving is a versatile sport combining tradition and modernity, elegance and speed. A modern driving competition includes three parts.
The dressage phase focuses on training, elegance, and harmony between driver and horses, with precise movements performed in a defined arena.
In the marathon phase, drivers navigate their teams through up to eight fixed, maze-like obstacles marked by letters, often across challenging terrain and water hazards. Speed is key here.
The final phase is cones driving, where drivers must guide their teams through up to 20 pairs of cones spaced only 15 cm wider than the carriage wheels, without knocking down the balls placed on top.
